Jack may be quite sexually active, but he also knows what’s most important. And if he has to sacrifice something like this for the well being of his friend, he will.
(Side note: For those not aware, it’s been implied heavily in the show that Jack is in fact in love with the Doctor. He cares a lot about the guy who changed his life in so many ways, always wanting to be noticed by him and even trying to follow in his footsteps.)
